Concierge Psychiatrist
Dr. Kittay is a Harvard trained Psychiatrist who manages the complex relationships between emotional and physical illnesses. Dr Kittay’s concierge practice has a small number of active patients which allows for prompt in-office or telemedicine appointments, same-day refill requests, extended appointment times, and direct access by phone. Depression
Depression affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. It is more than just being down or feeling sad because of something happening in your life. Depression is a deep feeling of overwhelming sadness or the marked loss of interest or pleasure in activities you usually enjoy that lasts at least 2 week. Depression can be a symptom seen in many psychiatric or physical illnesses such as thyroid disease, male and female hormone deficiency such as low testosterone in men and it is also a common problem in menopausal women.
Anxiety
Anxiety Disorders are the most common form of psychiatric disorders. Anxiety disorders commonly occur along with other psychiatric or physical illnesses, Thyroid disease, diabetes, adrenal issues, sleep apnea, vitamin and nutritional disorders are just some of the medical illnesses associated with anxiety. Anxiety can be a symptom of mood disorders such as depression and bipolar. These co-occurring illnesses need to be treated before a person will respond to treatment for anxiety.
Adult Attention Deficit Disorder
ADHD is a real disease that is caused by observable changes in the brain. Adults with undiagnosed or untreated ADHD have a history of failure at school, on-going problems at work, or difficult or failed relationships. Many have had multiple traffic accidents. Adults with ADHD may seem restless and may try to do several things at once, most of them unsuccessfully. ADHD is very effectively treated with medications.
